Great column!!!! Couldn’t agree more. Love the irreverence and absurdity. I once say Baba RomDas talk about seriousness vs sincerity. Oh are we serious these days

Glad to hear another Tom Robbins fan. In Seattle back in the day, we read all of his books. Robbins was a Puget Sound Hero. I've been to LaConner a few times but the locals are very close-lipped about Robbins. LaConner is in tulip country in the Skagit River Valley. It's a nice little funky town.

In one book, Tom Robbins describes Seattle as a dreary, rainy, place being slowly taken over by blackberry bushes. That is an apt description of the place.
